Being Malaysian
Being Malaysian is about being on a continuous gastronomic journey ... whiffing aromas and digging into woks and melting pots from a vast variety of cultures, races and unique modern people....
Being Malaysian is about being proud of our cultural heritage, our colonial past and embracing the frontiers of globalisation...
Being Malaysian is about forging ahead in our chosen profession tirelessly and with undying enthusiasm....
Being Malaysian is about facing challenges and hurdles with an enthusiastic 'Malaysia Boleh' attitude in more sensical ways than you can express with words....
Being Malaysian is about living together in peace and harmony in keeping with our Vision 2020....
Being Malaysian also means mastering the art of loafing and lepakking ....without neglecting your work or lives of course...
Being Malaysian is about being ourselves ....and being proud of who we are....

Life
You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience by which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.
Living life to the fullest gives us that courage... But if instead you lay back, shake your legs and shy away from life, before long you'll find that life's challenges become overbearing.....
We need courage, determination, love, support, patience and confidence to make it to our final destination, the way we want to.....Life afterall is what we make of it, how we live it and how rich an experience we allow it to be.....We are afterall masters of our fate....

Pet Therapy
Pets and I have a long history dating back to my childhood. From fish to dogs, the pet journey has not only kept me busy and entertained, it has worked like a charm to energize me and better than medicine in therapy for the busy yet exhausting lifestyle I've come to claim my own.
I have had fish ever since I can remember and have appreciated the experience tremendously. I remember waking up in my college room to a lighted aquarium at my feet end.... And my fishes have had lovely names....Brandy, Vodka, Shandy and the likes..... I only gave up having fish after one aquarium broke one day and all the gold fishes died and then of all calamities, the fish in our fountain bowl started dying in masses. What a tragedy...
Dogs as well, I must attest have healing and therapeutic properties for the human soul... I stand proof of the old adage - Dogs are mans best friends ! My 7 year old German Shepard mixed breed, Princess and American cocker spaniel, Duke have shared many of my busy, emotional and stressful days and when nothing else seems to work an old fashioned walk with the dogs helps relieve us of life's burdens ....My weekends are dedicated to bathing the dogs which is a fun activity that brings out the child in us !!
So if anyone needs to find happiness, peace and solace as well as respite from the urban jungles that have so much become part of our working lives, do give pets a thought.... But, as much as you may need them, they surely need you to shower them with love.... It's what you sow that you reap... .
