Beyond Deception is my second novel, the futuristic science fiction sequel to Woven In Deception which was a historical family drama. It has been edited and has now been published as paperback and ebook format on Amazon.com. Put in a nutshell, Beyond Deception is a futuristic science fiction, a tale of extraterrestrial encounters and medical breakthroughs which unexpectedly lead to the Martian conquest of Earth through telepathic control. Abhijay and Vethri, known as the ‘Blood Brothers’, descendents of the Doraisamy clan, blessed by a great sage, lead a technological battle against the invasion of the Martians which culminates in a new borderless world of interplanetery ties as prophecied by the great sage. While the tale of their lives are spun in the rapidly evolving future of modern, cutting edge technology, it retains some traditional Indian family values in keeping with it being a sequel to my former historical debut novel, Woven In Deception. Please find below the book cover of Beyond Deception with the synopsis.

intriguing table of contents, interesting chapter headings, and when possible, eye-catching illustrations.
Plot 4 : The characters of a book should be well defined with strengths and flaws, and while they do not have to be likable, the reader does
have to be able to form a connection with them. The tone should be consistent, the theme should be clear, and the plot should be original or told from a unique perspective. For informative books — those without plot and characters–this rating refers primarily to your concept and how well you presented it.
Development 5 : Development refers to how effectively you told your story or discussed your topic. The dialogue should be realistic, the descriptions should be vivid, and the material should be concise and coherent. Organization is also a key factor, especially for informative books — those without plot and characters. The order in which you tell your story or explain your topic and how smoothly it flows can have a huge impact on the reader’s understanding and enjoyment of the material.
Formatting 5 : Formatting is the single most overlooked area by authors. The way in which you describe scenes, display dialogue, and shift point of view can make or break your story. In addition, excessive grammatical errors and typos can give your book an amateurish feel and even put off readers completely.

Beyond Deception by Nirmala Kasinathan is the sequel to Woven Deception. Starting in 2060, we see Abhijay, head of the MARS 10 Mission, heading off on Day 1 of the mission on the Vimaana spacecraft. It is Abhijay who is responsible for finding the Martian Oasis, but events don’t go as planned and the Martians are unleashed on Earth. Abhijay’s brother is an inventor and a neurosurgeon who, through the invention of revolutionary devices, goes against the Martian rule. According to the Great Sage Schinada, the brothers will triumph in a strong alliance, bringing about further alliances between planets. But can they wrestle Earth from the telepathic control of the Martians? Did the Sage correctly prophesy the future? There’s only one way to find out.I did not read the first book, but I felt that Beyond Deception by Nirmala Kasinathan contained sufficient information so that I could keep up with the story. It could probably be read as a standalone but, like any series, I always feel that the books should be read as a series, not alone. Ms. Kasinathan has a clever way with words, writing smoothly, descriptively, and in a way that makes her story easy to follow yet is compelling reading. The character development leaves you in no doubt as to who these characters are and the plot ran a true course to the very end. This will suit fans of sci-fi down to the last detail; it has everything – action, adventure, prophecy, despair and triumph, every ingredient needed for a great story.

Kasinathan, N., (2018), Beyond Deception, [ Create Space]
Beyond Deception is a continuation of the Doraisamy family tree that was introduced during Woven in Deception (Kasinathan, N.,(2013)) and literally takes the reader to new heights. Framed in the mid twenty first century, it is a futuristic novel that bridges the space aged high-tech possibilities of the future with grounded traditional Asian culture and social behavior. This blend of future and past is artfully intertwined by the author.
The novel revolves around two main characters, Abhijay the astronaut and his cousin brother Vethri the respected neurosurgeon and pioneer of cutting-edge radiation imaging technology. The adventure begins when Abhijay and his team of astronauts arrive at Mars and find advanced humanoid life.
On their way back to Earth they find a female Martian stowaway. “She” is inadvertently inured during earth reentry but is saved by the efforts of the talented Vethri.
The grateful Martian female provides Abhijay’s and Vethri’s wives respectively with gifts at their wedding ceremony (held jointly). These gifts prove invaluable in thwarting the covert Martian invasion of Earth. Abhijay then leads Earths effort in forging peace with Mars and the rest of the humanoid life throughout the solar system.
The characters of Abhijay and Vethri are well developed with a rich explanation of their background, bond and sub-plots. Some scientific and medical elements are included in the novel which injects some realism and enriches the storyline. Additionally, what may seem trivial or unrelated, at the initial stage of the novel, becomes central to the overall plot as the novel unfolds – which makes for a most exciting read.
Beyond Deception is likely to appeal to a wide audience; the young and old, the dreamers and realist. The novel is multifaceted and there is something in it for everyone. Even the more technical aspects of the scientific and medical components are narrated in language that is easy to understand. Overall a good read.
And just when you think you have come to the conclusion, alas the adventure continues …

Book review by K. Velautham
Beyond Deception is the 2018 sequel to author, Dr. Nirmala Kasinathan’s first novel, Woven in Deception (2013). In the first book, we were taken on a journey which tells us the tale of a family that was carrying a curse for three generations. The fortunes have now turned around for this family, and the descendants have to bear the responsibilities that comes with immense blessings. The most surprising twist was in how this sequel has crossed over from a historical drama to a futuristic sci fi novel, while still maintaining the link to the Eastern settings and philosophy, close to the author’s heart. The author has built us a world where traditional culture and beliefs, co- exist with inter planetary travels. At a deeper level, this book also asks us to ponder upon philosophies and proses from the eastern sage and scripture, as well as Shakespeare, while making sense of the unfolding events. Heavy, as it sounds, the story unfolds quickly, and maintains a short and digestible pace throughout. The riveting pace of the book, navigates us through many interesting points in life, where the characters are driven by complex decision making in an environment that is literally, and figuratively alien. The book explores how medical breakthroughs and space travels can be a boon and a bane. The author’s own medical expertise gives a touch of realism to the dramatic medical details which make up an important part of the book. If I could add anything, it would be to request the author to delve deeper into the differences that will be present in the future, both from the lifestyle and the environment. That would have made the futuristic setting of the book even more convincing.
Nevertheless, the book has many subtle points. Interestingly, the inter-worldly conflict described in this book happens at a non-physical level, and yet has the same devastating effect of a typical war. It also explores how strong friendships and loyalties can be forged, not only within our family and with friends, but also with creatures that are very different from us at many levels. Many of the futuristic issues faced by the characters are classic and timeless. This hints that the deep-rooted human issues of today, will remain the same and as relevant in the future. The galaxy is indeed a very large and mysterious place. Do pick up this book for a weekend read to be whisked off to a refreshing futuristic journey, while keeping your feet firmly grounded in traditions and culture.
